International cooperation.

HISTORY OF CZECHOSLOVAK CURRENCY.

International cooperation is of key importance for the Czech National Bank, consisting in the convergence of Czech banking standards with world standards. The CNB also maintains contacts with central banks around the world, consisting mainly in the exchange of information and experience. Integration into EU structures is a particularly important area. The former Czechoslovak Socialist Republic was a member of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Bank for International Settlements and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The Czech Republic was immediately accepted into these organizations with its establishment. In December 1995, the Czech Republic joined the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. A particularly important step was the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union in October 1993 and the application for full membership of the European Union in January 1996. Since 1990, the Czech Republic has also been a recipient of technical assistance from international financial institutions, and since 1994 the Czech National Bank has been a provider of technical assistance to central banks in Central and Eastern Europe.
